General Information

What is Binogi? Binogi is a multilingual digital learning portal for students in grades 5–10. Thanks to real-world oriented learning videos, quizzes, and a monitoring tool for teachers, learning gaps can be identified individually and subsequently closed. Binogi stands for potential development and educational equity through independent, individual learning. The content is aligned with school curricula and educational standards.

Who is the program suitable for? The program is aimed at students and teachers in grades 5–10 across all school types. Furthermore, it is suitable for anyone interested in multilingual digital learning.

Where can I get an overview of the Binogi learning portal? To get an overview of our platform, you can watch our Introductory Video.

Account & Registration

How do I create an account? You can register with your email address or Google account at www.binogi.de. If you choose to register via email, enter your details in the empty fields and choose a password. Enter the password twice for security. You will then be asked whether you are a student or a teacher and which school you attend. If you cannot find your school, you can proceed without specifying one. Finally, agree to the privacy policy, and you are ready to start with Binogi.

What is the difference between "Login" and "Registration"?

  • Registration is the initial sign-up and creation of your account.

  • Login is how you access your already existing account. Once registered, you can log in at any time using your email address and your chosen password.

How do I activate my account? During registration, a confirmation link is sent to your email address. To activate your account, simply look for the email from "Binogi Support." You will be asked to confirm your email address. Open the email and click "Confirm." Alternatively, you can click the link provided or copy and paste it into a new browser window.

How do my students get a Binogi account? We offer the option to create student accounts via an external data upload. We will provide you with an upload link and a template that must be filled out before uploading. We can then generate the accounts automatically. To use this option, please contact our support at support@binogi.de or your school's Binogi contact person.

Languages & Features

I want to watch a video in another language. Where can I change the video language?

Within the video player, there is a "Change Language" option at the bottom right. A window will open showing all available languages. You can select your preferred audio language as well as subtitles.

Which languages are available? All videos and quizzes are available in up to 15 languages: German, English, Arabic, Somali, Dari, Tigrinya, Spanish, Swedish, Thai, Polish, Finnish, French, Turkish, Russian, and Ukrainian. This enables all students to participate in shared lessons regardless of their native language or origin.

I can’t find my language. Will more languages be added?

The Binogi education program is part of a global research and development project. As a result, the portal is always up to date, and both content and language selections are constantly being expanded.

How can I change the menu language to English?

The portal defaults to German, but the menu is also available in English. To change the language, go to the student area, select the gear icon (settings) at the top right, and click "Change language." Select your preferred language there.

Learning & Progress

What do the collected points mean?

Students collect points with every video watched and every quiz completed. These can be viewed in the dashboard at the top right. The more points collected, the greater the learning progress.

What are quizzes?

Quizzes located below the videos test the content shown. There are three difficulty levels. Levels 2 and 3 are unlocked once the first level is successfully completed.

What do the two hearts per quiz mean?

The two hearts represent the allowed attempts per difficulty level. This means you can answer two questions incorrectly per level without having to restart the entire level. Once a level is passed, the next one is unlocked.

Licenses & Teachers' Section

Which licenses are available and what do they include?

We offer Basic Licenses, Class and School Licenses, and the Binogi Education Program. You can find an overview of the contents of each license here.

Where can I see which license I have?

In the teacher area, click on Settings (gear icon at the top right). Under "Licenses," the languages available to you are displayed. Below that, you will find a "Show licenses" button to view your specific license type.

What is the Binogi Education Program?

As part of the Binogi Education Program, schools in participating municipalities receive full access to the portal in all languages and are supported by the Binogi team during implementation. Researchers from universities worldwide scientifically accompany the use of the portal and share findings on multilingualism and digitalization in schools.
